Leave prior to resignation H46 Public Servant who apply for permission to resign their posts maybe granted earned leave as may have accrued to thm , They should give at least one month's notice in writing of their departure on leave prior to resignation.

H38 Special leave granted under H33 (d) should be granted as follows :- (a) to all public servants who are members of the Central Executive of recognised Staff Associations and Trade Unions catering for public srervants to attend ordinary , emergency or special meetings of the Central and Executive of such staff associations and Unions concerned provided that public servants who are posted for duty outside Georgetown, must obtain prior approval to leave their duty stations whenever necessary ; (b) to those public servants who hold the offices of President, Secretary, Assitant Secretary , Stewart in recognised Staff associations and Trade Unions catering for public servants for the purpose of investigating complaints ,or assisting in settling disputes or other matters affecting conditions of service of members of the Staff Associations and Unions concerned , except shop Stewards in the Transport and Harbours Department ( wher adequate arrangements are in force for those fuctions to be carried out by sectional Union Officials) subject to the conditions specified in Rule H39.

H44 apublic servant may be granted by his Permanent Secretary or Head of his Department sick leave not exceedings 28 days in any one year . Absenses of half - a - day on account of illness will count as sick leave , Extention of sick leave beyond 28 dys may be granted by the Permanent Secretary ,Public Service Ministry at his discretion .

H35 Special leave with full pay not exceeding seven (7) days in any one calender year may be granted a public servant for the purpose of taking examinations in higher education in Guyana . The leave should not be deducted from vaction leave and should be confined to the half - day periods during which subjects are being taken . This concession applies to all public servants .

Persons holding non - pensionable posts - Vacation leave H49 Persons holding posts specifically in Annual Estimates under ' Personal Emoluments other than Fixed Establishment ' prior to 1st January ,1962, may be granted following the introduction of the existing Guilledaud leave conditions on 1 st January,1962,one last period of long leave of 84 days,on conclusion of a tour of three years i . e . in accordance with the pre - Guilledaud conditions but thereafter shall be entitled to only 14 :-
