📊 NordFX Weekly Forex Forecast: Inflation Week - Three Tests for the Dollar The dollar enters a crucial week near an 18-month high. 🔥 Now comes a three-stage inflation test: CPI on Wednesday, PPI on Thursday and import/export prices on Friday, all at 08:30 ET. Why does the sequence matter? CPI measures pressure on consumers, PPI looks further up the supply chain, while import prices can show how currency moves are passing through into the cost of foreign goods. 📦💵 The key is not to predict the numbers, but to watch whether they tell the same story. 🔥 Hotter inflation: higher yields and stronger Fed tightening expectations could give the dollar another push. ❄️ Softer inflation: pressure on yields could ease, opening the door to a dollar correction and some relief for EUR/USD and gold. 💶 EUR/USD: around 1.1210 after five straight weekly declines. France's fiscal and political uncertainty adds another headwind for the euro. A hot US inflation sequence could expose recent lows, while softer data may fuel a rebound. 🇯🇵 USD/JPY: around 158.24. US yields remain the key driver, but at these levels the threat of Japanese intervention also deserves attention. Rising yields favour the upside, while falling yields could give the yen room to recover. 🥇 Gold: around $4,185-$4,200. The metal faces a tug-of-war between geopolitical risk and a strong dollar. Watch real yields closely: softer inflation and lower yields could support gold, while renewed rate fears would be a challenge. 🛢️ Oil: Brent is near $103.3 after sliding on hopes of increased Russian supply. But Houthi attacks, tanker incidents and the wider Middle East conflict keep a substantial geopolitical risk premium alive. Another oil surge could feed straight back into the inflation debate. ⚠️ One extra trap: thin Monday liquidity. Japanese markets are closed for a holiday, while the US has a partial holiday.

🤖 One AI Theme. Two Charts. Very Different Behaviour. NVDA and USTEC can both give you exposure to the AI story. But put their charts side by side and the difference becomes much easier to see. 🎯 NVDA concentrates your exposure in one company. Earnings, guidance or a company-specific headline can trigger a sharp move. 📊 USTEC spreads exposure across the Nasdaq 100. Individual company moves still matter, but their impact is mixed with the performance of the rest of the index. Want to see the difference rather than just read about it? 🧪 Try this simple demo exercise: 1️⃣ Register and open a NordFX demo account. 2️⃣ Put NVDA and USTEC charts side by side. 3️⃣ Use the same timeframe and watch them during the same market session. 4️⃣ Compare the speed, size and timing of their moves. 5️⃣ Notice when NVDA reacts independently and when both instruments move with the broader market. There is no "winner" in this experiment. The point is to see how concentrated vs diversified exposure behaves before deciding which better fits a particular market view. 👉 Register and test it on demo: https://my.nordfx.com/en/regis... #NordFX #Trading #AI #NVDA #USTEC #Nasdaq100 #CFDTrading

💱 NordFX: Why FX Takes Time to Reach Your Shopping Basket A currency moves today. Prices in the shops tomorrow? Not necessarily. 🛒⏳ The path usually looks more like this: 💱 FX move → import costs → company margins → consumer prices Why the delay? 🛡️ Importers may hedge currency exposure months ahead. 💵 Many international contracts are invoiced in US dollars, reducing the immediate impact of some FX moves. 🏭 Companies can absorb higher costs in their margins before passing them on to customers. 📦 Existing inventories may have been bought at older prices. This matters now. US import prices jumped 0.7% m/m and 7.0% y/y in August, while prices excluding food and fuels rose 5.6% y/y. September CPI has since accelerated to 3.7% y/y, as energy costs and geopolitical tensions keep inflation firmly in focus. 🔥🛢️ 🇺🇸 Tomorrow at 08:30 ET, September US import prices arrive. Don't just watch the headline. 👀 Watch whether price pressure is spreading beyond energy into industrial supplies, capital goods and consumer goods. ⚡ FX reacts in seconds. Inflation can take months to catch up. 👉 Explore the markets with NordFX: https://my.nordfx.com/en/regis...

📊 NordFX: When +25% Doesn't Really Mean +25% US retail sales rose 0.8% in September. But there is an important detail behind that headline: the number is seasonally adjusted. 🔍 Imagine a retailer records: 🛒 November sales: $100m 🎄 December sales: $125m Raw growth: +25%. 🚀 But December is normally much stronger because of Christmas shopping. After removing that recurring seasonal effect, our hypothetical increase might be only +0.5%. Both numbers can be correct: 🔹 NSA (unadjusted) shows what was actually recorded 🔹 SA (seasonally adjusted) helps reveal the underlying change after recurring seasonal and calendar effects are removed Why does this matter now? 🌍⚡ September US retail sales jumped 0.8%, but expensive gasoline helped drive the headline, while the closely watched retail control group increased just 0.1%. With inflation, energy shocks and geopolitical turbulence moving markets, reading beyond the headline matters more than ever. 📈📉 💡 Trader's rule: before comparing two economic numbers, check whether both are SA or both are NSA. Otherwise, you may be comparing two different things. 👉 Explore the markets with NordFX: https://my.nordfx.com/en/regis...

📏 NordFX | 0.10 Lot Is Not Always 0.10 Lot You type 0.10 into the order window. Familiar number. Familiar risk? Not necessarily. 👀 The same lot size can represent completely different exposure depending on what you trade: 💶 EURUSD – 1 lot = 100,000 EUR 🥇 XAUUSD – 1 lot = 100 oz ₿ BTCUSD – 1 lot = 1 BTC 📊 DE40 – 1 lot = 1 index unit So copying the same lot size from forex to gold, crypto or an index does not mean copying the same risk. 🔍 The difference is hidden in three numbers traders often overlook: contract size, tick size and tick value. And there are more traps. A tick is not always a pip. A tiny tick size does not necessarily mean tiny risk. And even a 0.00 tick size shown in MT5 does not mean a price move is worth nothing. Our new guide breaks it all down with practical examples and shows how to read instrument specifications, calculate the value of a price move and size positions more intelligently. 📊 👉 Before you compare lot sizes, compare what those lots actually represent. 📖 Read the full guide: https://nordfx.com/useful-arti...
