Chinese losses were limited as state banks cut deposit rates. The Shanghai Shenzhen CSI 300 and Shanghai Composite indexes traded within a lower range, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell by 0.3% after reports of the largest state-owned banks in China reducing interest rates on yuan deposits.
