Once upon a time, a shepherd went to the market on a donkey and he brought a goat with him. Three swindlers saw him and planned to ripe him off. The first swindler unfastened the bell on the goat's neck, tied it to the donkey's tail and took the goat away while the shepherd was napping on the donkey's back. When woke up, the shepherd found that the goat was missing, and hurried to look for it. At that point, the second fraud came over and zealously asked what he was looking for. The shepherd said his goat had been stolen and asked if he had seen it. The fraud pointed to a direction casually, claiming that he saw a person with a goat walk through the forest, who might be the thief. The shepherd was anxious to chase the goat and left the donkey to the "kind man". When he returned empty-handed, the donkey and the "kind man" disappeared as expected.

The shepherd was so sad that he cried as he walked. When passing by a pool, he found a person sitting by the side, crying even more sadly than him. The shepherd was curious: is there anyone who’s unlucky than me? So he asked the person why he was crying. The man told the shepherd he wanted to buy things in the city with two bags of gold coins, which accidentally dropped in the water while he was washing his face.
“Hurry up! Go down and find them”, said the shepherd. The man said he could not swim, and would give the shepherd 20 gold coins if he could pick them up. On hearing this, the shepherd was glad and thought this was a great chance. Although the goat and the donkey were lost, there would be 20 gold coins, which was more than enough to fully covered the loss. He quickly stripped off and jumped into the water. When he climbed out of the water naked and empty-handed, his clothes and food were gone, and the only money he had left was still in his pockets.
Let’s sum up the reasons why the shepherd was deceived:
1. Not careful enough before an accident.
2. Over panic after the accident.
3. Rush to make up the loss.
The three frauds grasped the three character weaknesses of the shepherd and easily ripped him off. The root causes of serious loss for traders are carelessness, panic, and eagerness to make up the loss. The highly strategic deception of the scammers has been tried and tested with everyone who has encountered it failed.
Copping strategies:
1. Always be in awe of the market, be cautious in trading, and face the market with a cautious attitude.
2. If you have a deficit, don't panic, stop trading temporarily and look for principles to find problems. Check for gaps and improve the system.
3. Anxiety is one of the biggest reasons for traders to lose money. Heavy positions, to open and close positions without any signal and frequent tradings are all caused by anxiety. In the market, we must stay calm. As an old saying goes in China, " Fortune does not prefer the hurried ones." Be patient, the market will always pay you back.
A simple story can expose the weakness of human nature, just like a cup of tea can sober people up.
